| Henrietta was a daughter of George & Jane Hartt. She
was born in 1821 and died Feb. 16, 1899. Henrietta
married Horatio Nelson Drake Dec. 1, 1840, by John
Byrkmyre, Presbyterian; witnesses were James Cook
and Sarah A. Hartt. Horatio died suddenly during the
busiest season of the year for river boatmen. He was 29
yrs old and when he died at Grand Falls, NB, on
Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1847. He was known in his
community as a useful and honest man. He was a
master of the steamboat “Reindeer” on the St. John
River. It was the most famous of the steamboats on the
river, built and launched in Fredericton.
Henrietta’s second marriage was to John Leonard Fletcher in 1854.
He was a way office keeper at Nashwaak village from
1857-1890. John was born 1824 in NB and died Feb.
16, 1899, at age 73. He was the son of Rebecca &
Benjamin Fletcher. Henrietta is buried beside her
parents and her first husband in the Old Burying
Ground, Fredericton, New Brunswick
